Last year I won £10 in a bet on the winter temperatures in Dorset -

Apparently this time the wager is on ' a foot of snow for a week' here
in Milton Abbas. Well, I think this is a good one for me again so I am
going for this tomorrow!

You could be onto a winner Robin. I think it will be a colder winter
than last winter. It couldn't be any milder, with hardly any snow or frost!

Of course he's on a winner. There are going to be a few surprises this winter
with sea temps below normal just to the north of UK and the synoptics indicating
surges of very cold air moving into Russia next month.

Logs are being chopped in preparation :-)

You sound very sure of yourself, Will. I had to double check that the
author of this post wasn't Piers Corbyn. He's probably writing his
predictions for November editions of The Express as I write. "Killer
snowdrifts" or how about a sighting of the Abominable Snowman in
Streatham High Road sound about right...
