Now what?

A look at the MetO and GFS charts now gives me the strong
impression that the circulation has gone to sleep. In the next week it
will be hot (typically 28°C) and rather humid but nothing will happen
over most of England apart from the odd local thunderstorm. The fun is
over - prepare to be bored. The only interest left is whether July
2006 will turn out to be the warmest month in the CET record. My guess
at the moment, prompted by a conversation with Ian Currie, is that it
will - just.
