Austrian Weather

Hi,

Its been a while since I have posted about the weather here, but we have
been away in Britain, working on the house and business. The weather here at
the moment has been very hot up to 28oC for the last two and half weeks. The
outdoor swimming pool has been open. But since the 19th June we have had a
thunder storm nearly every day, usually in the evening. Some have been over
us, some nearby but tonight we have had the biggest storm I have witnessed
in my life. The temp dropped from 29 oC to 18 oC in about 10 mins , the wind
increased to near gale force ( and nearly blew the 10 foot trampoline away-
luckily I was nearby and managed to hold on to it!!) and then we had a
power cut for two and half hours. The sky went dark , thunder and lightning
and within minutes of the thunder the rain started falling very heavily. I
got soaked to the skin in about 30 seconds. Then after that we had large
hail stones. After about 40 mins the wind suddenly stopped and it carried on
raining for a few hours after that. I assume it must have been a cold front
?? that caused this coming from the West.

Today 28th June the weather is sunny again and the cooler weather I hoped
for has not arrived- it is still 24oC. There has been quite a lot of damage
around here , trees blown over, roofs blown off, structural damage and
flooding. There is a report here ( in german):-

Lets hope we don't get another one tonight!!

Although according to this we might:-
