A cold and rather dry month overall, although February 2005 was much drier.
Coldest February since 1996.

The 4 days from 14th until 17th saw 70.1mm, 75% of the months rain. Due
largely to frequent, prolonged showers of rain & hail streaming in off the
sea. There were some particularly violent showers with large hail on 16th.
