During the afternoon the showers slowly eased off. The snow on the road then melted. On grass, the snow has remained so we still have the beauty. The temperature has dropped quickly over the last half hour from -0.1C to -3.0C so there is a good chance that overnight showers will settle on the road as well.
An addendum to the above. I have just been out to check on my sheep (the ewes are in a shed getting ready for lambing) and I walked into very heavy snow. The concrete yard had about 2cm of snow on it (snow had previously melted on it) so the road will be well covered as well. I don't think I will be getting any post tomorrow.
