My current pressure reads 977mb, Bradford Leeds airport appears to be only 5 metres higher than myself but has a pressure of 998mb. Is the pressure likely to be so different 4.9 miles away or do I need to adjust my barometer???
The 998mb at LBA is adjusted to sea level. You're quoting your station pressure, which you need to adjust to compensate for your altitude. The adjustment is about 1mb per 8 metres altitude. So, if your altitude is about 168m ASL, you're reading the same as LBA.
