Bernard,
I have'nt been at work since we (ATC) went live with the Metars on the 18th
October. I am due back in the office on Wednesday so may be able to see how
they are getting on then.
I have also observed that the Metars are missing from the collectives - and
I generally use LFV - afraid I dont have an answer, except to say they are
still available at Sembach
EGLL 301020Z 18016KT 9999 OVC021 18/14 Q1004 TEMPO RA
but not on LFV.
One possible theory is that the 'raw' metar now has the trend added by
Exeter after ATC has produced the initial observation. This, I believe, is
then producing a 'COR' Metar, which may not be acceptable to some
collectives. I know that there was an issue with the data being absorbed by
a big airline for the first few days which prevented this trend being added
in the first place. Just a theory.
The lack of high cloud ( above 5,000ft ) has already been mentioned in this
newsgroup, and is part of CAA/ICAO changes that came in on the 5th Oct. I am
afraid that all stations will eventually only report cloud below 5000ft
unless its CB.
Finally, I the hotmail account has long ceased. I wont publish an active
account on the ng due to uncontrollable spam when I had my Pipex account.
I'll email you separately as well.
Hope this helps
Phil
