Exceedingly cold day according to the radio...

Just heard on the radio, today's forecast:

"Showers in Scotland, mostly dry elsewhere. Highs 6 to 10".

A little more accurate than two hours ago though:

"Showers in Scotland, mostly dry in NW England, heavy rain elsewhere.
Highs 6 to 10".

Sounds like a night-time forecast....
