"ever" is a very strong word but I agreed >26.5C is highly unlikely.
That's a good 10 degrees above what they are at the moment. If such a
change occured I think we'd have a lot more to worry about than a real
hurricane hitting the UK.

Yep, the "expert" doesn't seem to make the distinction between a real
hurricane and ex-ones. I must make a composite of a sat pic of a
hurricane, superimpose the coastline of the UK and put on some broad
wind contours. Add a bit of explanatory text about the wind speeds and
what is normal for the UK as a comparison. That would really put these
massive storms into perspective.

produces! Grabs the headlines though and 99% of the population will
