Well, near where I work, there is,or rather was, a notorious little
thing called the Blandford Fly. It gave a bite that blew up enormously
and was very uncomfortable - the wife got one about 9 years ago and I
was really sympathetic.
To celebrate this Badger Brewery created a beer with a little ginger
added ( to give it 'extra bite') and,naturally, called it Blandford
Fly.
In recent years the fly thingy has,I think, done a runner as I believe
the banks of the River Stour were sprayed. I guess there are other
notorious insects in good old UK...
