Many of you will be aware that the UK government is threatening to cut
funding for the Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire England. This
would result in the closure of the Lovell radio telescope and the
MERLIN project, and effectively end British involvement in radio
astronomy.

If you are a UK citizen, please follow the link below and sign the
petition urging the Prime Minister to reverse this decision.

The problem is not just with Jodrell Bank, the following petition calls to
reverse the budget shortfall that is affecting STFC funding across a wide
