When in use the eye-pieces/barlows fit into a tube 3-4 inches long, which
screws into the focus mount, with the my old SLR, you'd tube remove this to
screw in the T-adapter

This tube is too long to be used with the toucam+adapter, and yet the plain
focus mount is too short - had about 30 minutes of clearish skies with
clouds here and there so improvised with some paper holding it about an inch
out of the focus mount.

The 4x barlow I've got which came with the scope is another 3-4 inches long,
a lot of the barlows I've seen in more recent years are a lot shorter,
including Tal's own 3x one.

Anyway I did manage to get a few minutes on Saturn before the cloud came
over. Was very hectic, the laptop had died after using it all afternoon, it
clouded over rushed it inside to try and get some battery in it, and managed
to give it enough to take 3 minutes of video, most of which was behind
cloud. But got this out of it...

My objective was the Cassini division, may be next time, if I can get things
a bit more stable - I've got match sticks in mind to try and extend the
toucam's adapter a bit.

Have to sort the barlow thing out another time if I can get someone else
who's got the same setup as me to let me know what definitely works and what
doesn't, as I don't have the money to spend on a barlow that's not use.

Oh well it's good to be back after I abounded astrophotography in '97, and
it still seems to be a game for people who improvise on the spot when
nothing works like it's expected. 8-)
