Could also be caused by blood vessels growing inwards towards the iris at the
front of the eye, near the cornea. This is caused by over-wearing of contact
lenses, starving that part of the eye of the oxygen because of non-permeable
contacts blocking the oxygen from getting to the front of the eye. The tiny
blood vessels grow inwards from the outside of the iris, which cause the kind
of halo you seem to be talking about it. I know because I have this, from the
days before I wore daily disposables. My optician told me last time that the
vessels were no longer carrying blood, so the problem was improving, though
the actual structures of the vessels will probably never disappear.
