Planetarium software - recommendations?

I have been using Guide-8 since version 2 (10+ years) and wonder whether
there are more suitable programs available. Suggestions were 'The Sky' and
'Starry Night'. I would like one that can be downloaded and tried first
for a week or two, and also can read in my extensive CDs of the various
catalogues. Any suggestions as to which might be the best?
