Very happy with my 15x70 Strathspeys (under a ton) and a mount from 43 South is worth the waiting time, effort and money too, about £130 inc post IIRC. Individually hand made to order (and to match your tripod head) from managed New Zealand woodland, a beautiful parallelogram mount :
