The 740 is the original Toucam Pro, (cream case) The 840 is the Pro II
(silver case) No functional difference AFAIK. Just the case. In fact IMO the
740 is the better bet as the USB cable is longer. You will need a eyepiece
adapter. An IR blocking filter is useful to help get the colours right and
to minimise atmospheric chromatic abberation and is essential if you are
using an achromatic refractor, though the filter on the back of the lens
could be removed and pressed into service, mounted at the bottom of the
adapter at a pinch.
