Is my LX90 broken?

Hi all. I'm new to astronomy and my LX90 and I'm having problems with
my scope and wondered if anyone could give me some advice.. I'll phone
the store tomorrow and ask them too.
I used the scope last night (only my second time using it) and
everything was fine until the scope started moving vertically i.e. was
not keeping the current image centered. I tried running the automatic
alignment process again but it failed a couple of times and then I
packed up as it was getting late.
I've been trying to use the scope tonight and I still can't align it.
The LNT auto align points the scope south when it is calculating north
(is this normal?) and then it is way off the alignment stars. It is
looking for Vega just above the horizon.
I've then manually centered the two alignment stars and I get the
message that alignment has failed.
I haven't entered the date/time .. I don't need to do that with LNT,
right?
Any advice appreciated as I'm now starting to panic!
Thanks,
Andy.
