Hello,
I have this mad notion about building a remote-control model flying
saucer, and somewhere in the recesses of my memory I recall you posting
some links regarding flying saucer design, could you please respost
those links.
Depends how you want to power it.
You know you can buy something very similar in toy shops?

best type is probably
http://yifengtrading.en.alibaba.com/product/50077986/50431503/R_C_Toys/R_C_X_UFO.html
However, if you are referring to high voltage lifters...
http://jnaudin.free.fr/lifters/main.htm
Do these high voltage flyers really exist, or are they in the realms of
big-foot and green men?
I always thought that Telsa ( may his name be exalted ) was on the right
track.
I did visit the sight and saw Orval fly!
The lifter does work.
However, they cannot yet (and may never) be able to carry enough mass to
include an onboard power supply. However, this may not rule them out as
useful devices if (say) they were constructed as a rectenna and powered by
a ground based microwave generator.
I googled rectenna, followed some of the links and soon got lost in
technical spec. These are way over my head. But very interesting for future
developments.
Thanks for the info
< Thinks > I seem to recall a picture of a UFO from way back in a book. It
was saucer shaped, but did have three large bulges in the bottom in a
triangular formation. If the circular shape was a massive coil ( Rectenna
? ) that drove the lifting equipment, ( the bulges ) that might work.
