Thanks for making my point for me - on a personal level, working for the civil service is expensive for me, on a psycho-emotional level. And I know it is this way for many people who work for the government.

Poor you. Maybe the govt can hire a few thousand counsellors to soothe you, at more expense. Then they too can whine on about what a *** job they do, unlike us 'outsiders' who have it so cushy.
