Be afraid. Be very afraid. The company in question are EDS, and
they're
almost certainly going to be the folk who get to implement the
database
behind the new ID card....
No need for fear at all, then.
EDS are notorious for designing computer systems that don't work, as
anyone
in the Revenue, the DWP, and many other government departments will
tell
you.
10 years after ID cards are supposed to be introduced, look forward to
the
government minister explaining shamefacedly that in spite of spending
£9000
million on developing the system, there are still teething troubles
that
mean that no ID cards have actually been issued...

It's a sad state of affairs that companies can make more money by
leeching off the government with bad projects than it can by actually
delivering on their promises.
EDS actually told the CSA that there was nothing wrong with the computer
system they designed, but that the staff were using it wrong - just over
12 months ago, they set up a model office to prove the DWP wrong, then
12 months later closed it because they couldn't make it work!
Major problem was they paid their staff much more than the DWP staff,
and now want to integrate them into to the CSA, can't reduce their
wages, so the government will be paying them their higher wage while
they work side by side with civil servants on a crap wage - bloody
government!!!!

Not bitter and twisted!
Civil Servants deserve a crap wage.
Good pay, excellent pensions and total job security all together
supported by the taxpayer is an abuse.
Errr - and civil servants don't pay tax? or take abuse from the people
who pay them? or work bloody hard and still get slagged off by the media?
Perhaps some civil servants need to work to keep a roof over their
families heads rather than sit on there behinds and claim benefits for
the 10 kids they have to 10 different fathers, none of whom they can
remember the name of, but who actually live with them so they can carry
on claiming fraudulently, all at the tax payers expense.
Admittedly civil service management might not deserve a penny that get,
but the ones who are on the front line taking crap on a daily basis
deserve double what they get!
Most of them deserve to be fired.
why?
someone after you for child maintanance?
and you would prefer your taxes to go to the unemployed?
I know I rather my taxes didn't.
Or at least, have their jobs 'privatised' and get to work in the real
world like the rest of us.
and when it's the only job you can get, or go on the dole, which would you
take?
Or claim unemployment benefit. Whatever.
oh well. whatever
