Are you at all aware that the story of "christ" was formulated
from
those of a dozen or so pagan savior godmen? The most prominent
are
Horus of Egypt, Mithras of Persia and Kryshna of India. All
were
born
of a virgin on or near Dec. 25 (the Winter Solstice), lived
lives
of
abject poverty, performed similar miracles, and gave their lives
on
a
crucifix between two theives on or near the Spring Equinox
(Easter).
And *all* predated Christianity by centuries. The Passion is
not
only
a silly story, it is a
stolen silly story.

Bob,
This is the same thing you posted in October, but the thread went
dead when I asked you to provide some evidence for your
statement.
At that time, I replied

"Have a look at http://tektonics.org/copycat/osy.html. Unless
something has come along in the meantime since that page was
written,
there is no meaningful correlation between the New Testament's
account of Jesus' life, death and resurrection. If you can
produce
the actual Egyptian texts upon which the New Testament is
allegedly
based, it would be good to see them. I await your reply with
interest.

<snip of stuff about Christmas>

On 22nd October, another of my replies to you said, "Have you been able to find anything in the way of original documents to support your statement about Horus, please?"

I can see no reply from you on my news server. Were you able to
find
anything evidence to support your statement?

Cheers,

Alan

No-one has evidence or proof for stories written two thousand or more years ago.

Yet you happily quote stuff about "Horus of Egypt, Mithras of Persia and Kryshna of India" and without any supporting evidence. Why is that?

I did not

Now I'm confused. There is a post in your name from 19 December 2005 10:40, viewable on http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.religion.islam/browse_thread/thread/48fa46e356cd9352/13dcb2d6559473ee?q=group%3Auk.religion.islam+%22bob+young%22+horus&; that has your name against it. Was it not you who posted it?

Do you believe that Julius Caesar invaded Britain, by the way? If
so,
why do you believe this? I would be very interested to know.

Remains have been found and stories exist on these remains. More than can be said for anything that is currently cliamed in Bethlehem.

What remains linking it to Julius Caesar would that be? Which stories
and why do you believe them? I know this seems irrelevant, but bear
with me, please.

Alan

Hiya, Bob, Any thoughts yet? Did I understand your "I did not" correctly?

Alan
