Dear Salahuddin,
If you love your Lord Almighty with all your heart, mind, soul and
strength then virginity is the purest form of demonstrating this,
that's all it is saying. The Lord's love satisfies 'more' than that of
a physical love, which is of the flesh and not Spirit.
Hi Carol,
Its nice to meet you. Theres a lot of hostility between the people on this newsgroup, hopefully we will be able to teach and learn from each other in a positive manner.
Regarding what you said above, what you have said is a bit ambiguous for me, i dont like to assume, so let me ask, are you saying christians or those who love God, should not have sex, period (ha, period! geddit??? - Alan)?
<snip of some practical stuff>
I'm sure Carol will give her own answer, but Carol may be referring to something Paul the apostle spoke about in 1 Corinthians 7. There, possibly during a period of persecution, he recommends that people stay single so they can serve God better. A married man, particularly during times of persecution, but at other times as well, has his family to look after (and worry about!). Someone who is not married and who can handle that well, is better able to serve God in many ways, though perhaps relating to women and families may not be one of them. It is the family responsibilities that can be the burden, rather than sex itself. At least, that is what the bible teaches, though looking back at the church during history, you can get a very different idea.
Sex in itself, in the right context, i.e. marriage between one man and one woman, intending to keep it that way while both are alive, is great idea of God's. I'm glad he invented it. I really am :-)
Alan
