What happened to Jesus' dead body whether he died on the cross, or departed after resurrection? Where is his grave.
The body of Christ was placed in a tomb and a large boulder placed
across
the entrance. The Romans put 2 guards at the blocked entrance to prevent anyone removing the body and proclaiming the prophecy of the risen
Christ.
During the evening, the guards fell into a deep sleep brought on by the
Holy
Spirit, and the next morning when Mary came to the tomb, the boulder had been moved and Christ's body was not in there. Mary wept and approached
a
garderner, who, at first, she did not recognise. And the gardener asked
her
"woman, why do you seek the living among the dead?", and Mary saw that
this
was indeed Jesus Christ, who was risen.
Thanks for sharing.
btw, who was Mary?
Does the above Tomb hold any religious significace for Christian today? I mean, is it considered Jesus' grave?
And what happened after Jesus re-departed after this resurrection? Was his body found? Was he buried in a grave? Where?
Further, is there anecdote about Peter (of the 12 disciples, and the St. Peter fame) getting burnt alive by Romans or Jews?
Mary Magdalene was a follower of Jesus, and many people, including Christians, believe she was a reformed prostitue, however, ther is no mention of such in the scriptures, and she was probably a woman of independent means.
I asked because probably she is the one whom Dan Brown shows as duly married wife of Jesus, the mother of his kids.
Considering that Christ rose up, the tomb doesn't seem to hold any significant place for Christians. As Christ said, why look for the living among the dead?
If we consider the same logic, why would Jerusalem hold religious significance for Christians?
And what about: And what happened after Jesus re-departed after resurrection? Was his body found? Was he buried in a grave? Where?
Jesus refered to Saint Peter as the Rock on who he would build his church. Many Christians believe that it was Nero who brought about the death of Saint Peter: http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Saint%20Peter's
Dan Brown describes about St. Peter in Angels and Demons. He says that the original grave of St Peter is underground in Vatican, thus Jesus' church is indeed built upon The Rock.
