Hebrew "yam suf" = "sea of reeds" and is usually taken to be a (possibly
former) lake to the north of the Red Sea proper. LXX "erythra thalassa"
= "Red Sea" so KJV and other English translations. It is an amusing
coincidence that in English only a single extra letter E is required to
make the correction.
