We ALL deserve death, salvation is only by God's mercy. So let's stop
singling out the particular sins of OTHER people. That's 'scape-goating',
IMO.
By all means let us examine ourselves, but if you are saying that
Christians - clergy or otherwise - should never rebuke sin, then I can
quote a whole lot of verses which say the exact opposite: we have a duty
to warn the sinner and if we fail to do so, God will hold us responsible.
someone a sinner and warn them while being ourself guilty of the same
sin.
It is almost as bad to have a list of favourite sins to accuse others
of that are the sins that through gender or situation there is little
danger of us being tempted to commit.
Is it our job to judge or convict of sin or is it that we should
give a more general call to repentance and faith and leave the rest to
God?
