Ken, why do you write something you know isn't true.
The money issue in Islamic law is blood money, you pay the individual
compensation for the killing of their relative (the killing could have
been
by accident or by intent) although the compensation is not received by
the
Mosque, which was the case with the Church. The compensation is the
choice
to the representative or family of the aggrieved not the choice of the
Mosque. Having this rule as part of Islamic rule doesn't make it so the
idea
of compensation for any crime in Islam is at the heart of its rule.
Well, I don't claim to be an expert in sharia, but my understanding is
that a wide range of crimes, including rape, can be settled by money
compensation.
I think you have been mistaken, as the law is clear, put the guy who
committed the crime to death; a rule which is coherent with the law of the
OT.
(any money compensation to receive or not, or the choice to apply for
compensation is the choice of the aggrieved, not the agressor or the mosque)
I know the rules imposed by those people of the Church were wrong and in
no
way shape or form shared any common ground with the actual teachings of
Jesus; which were to uphold the Law of God, but use the idea of
forgiveness
at the heart of the application, obviously you know and common would have
it
that their are many occasions in which you cant turn the other cheek and
you
have apply the law to its full extent.
The other point is that at the time the Catholic church was part of
the legal establishment (and in some cases *was* the legal
establishment). It is a fact that in nearly all modern countries
crimes can be forgiven in exchange for money - if you don't believe
me, just park on double-yellow lines and see what happens.
The catholic church was the establishment that applied the law but it did
NOT apply it according to the religion it claimed to follow and promote.
I know you get a fine of £30 (or even upto £90 if in London) for parking on
double yellow lines, but I doubt if any man forced himself on a women of
Gordon Brown's family he will accept a £90 sum to let him go free.
