If it's true, how could any man be severely depressed, who declares he
is a special child of God who has been already guaranteed to be one of
the "Few saved", [irrespective of any future "wilful" sins he commits,
and poo-poos the possibility of himself falling away later in life],
even before he has appeared before Christ's judgment seat?
I would have thought that man would be on a permanent cloud nine.

Regardless of whom we are discussing, I can't believe you can make such
a comment. Even St Paul had problems with his eyes and a 'thorn in the
flesh'.

True, Mike, but he didn't let it get him down and become nasty and difficult and childishly pedantic with other people.

Are you saying that you expect those who are saved not to have
illnesses of any type?

I have answered this in another post.

Jeff....
"And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:6-9 (King James Version)

He didn't let it get depressed, indeed, he gloried in his infirmities, as he knew it was for his own good.
