What a load of drivel you talk.

Here's a man (or woman) dying in agony in the gutter. The atheists
were all ignoring him (or her), but along come some Christians and
give him (or her) love, care, dignity - so the atheists, stung
because
their "religion" didn't motivate them to do anything for the
unfortunate person, stand around grumbling because the Christians
weren't providing the *right* standard of care.

If you think you can do better, round up some of your high-minded
atheist friends and get out there. Calcutta is still there and
there's
plenty of dying beggars, enough to go round without anyone feeling
they've been short-changed.

What, still here?

You think we don't? You must walk around with your eyes closed then.
Ah but of course - I knew that already. Silly of me.

So *you* do do *you*?

Seeing as you ask so nicely... all told 25 years of unpaid hands-on
charity work so far, averaging about 40 hours a month on top of a
full-time job for the first ten, a lot more since. How about you Phil?

Well since your answer is no I will move on. You don't get hands on with
the dying beggars.

Sorry but you don't escape that easily. Does getting hands on with Aids
orphans in SE Asia, some of them infected themselves, count? Or closer to
home in the UK, a decade of sitting on clifftops etc with the suicidal and
despairing? Or in France working directly with the urban poor and
underprivileged minorities to get them access to some of the benefits most
of us take for granted?

Or does your debating gambit rely on the silly notion that Kendall's
original point was Calcutta-dying-beggar specific?

It isnt a gambit. A question was asked. You didnt answer the specific
question.

As for me,

I have done a fair amount of charitable work.

Yeah yeah. That's vague enough.

Well I linked to the last one.

I've had my fill of pettiness and nonsense arguments on your part, time to
draw a line under any this and any further exchanges.

I could boast about it but I don't. So it is vague.

I apologise for my humility.

Phil
