Posts to ukrc not appearing
There is currently an intermittent problem whereby posts to ukrc are
not reaching the moderbot. The failure is at the server where posts
are forwarded from the "official" moderation address @usenet.org.uk to
the "real" moderation address on my server, and hence they never get
here. There's nothing I can do about it as it isn't happening anywhere
under my control. I have reported this as a fault to the forwarding
provider.
Those of you who run your own news servers (such as Leafnode or INN),
or have moderation-aware news clients (such as Turnpike) can get
around the problem by configuring it to send posts directly to the
moderation server instead of the official address. The address to use
is: moderation-in {at} moderbot dot ukrc dot info (that's obviously
munged to avoid spammers, but it should be relatively easy to
reassemble). Note that this will *not* work for direct email-to-news
posts - you have to use the official submission address for that - as
the server will discard anything hitting that address directly that
doesn't have a valid newsgroups line.
I'll keep you updated with any news on the fault.
