this decision was preceeded by a petition from over 50% of the female
clergy requesting that they get a move on...
Specifically demanding no quarter for any who disagree. Hmm.
What do you mean?
Perhaps I haven't managed to find the right petition. There
are a number of petitions flying around, signed by various
groups with various goals. I *think* this is the thing that
was signed by over half the female clergy in the CoE:

(the bit starting "From: Women Clergy")
and it doesn't appear to me to be *demanding* anything,
nor even to be *requesting* "no quarter for any who disagree".
Curious to see such intolerance from those who first demanded
tolerance from others and then, once they gained power, have demanded
conformity or expulsion.
Could you please be more specific? What people are you talking
about? What power have they gained? What have they demanded
"conformity or expulsion" about, and what power do they have
to expel?
It looks to me like the people here are (about half of) the
female clergy in the CoE; they don't have much power (e.g.,
none of them are bishops so far, which is the point here);
they aren't demanding "conformity or expulsion" about anything;
and they don't have any power to expel anyone.
But perhaps I'm missing something.
But then, as pawns of the establishment,
what other function do they have?
I wonder what function you have.
