Please will you consider more options and think before you tease.
An online friend of mine almost died a few days ago and is still not
out of danger.
This tragedy came about from a train of events that started with her
being criticised in an online Christian community for her spelling.

A very, very nasty post indeed, cynically playing on most people's
wish to be nice in order to stifle discussion.

Please can you explain how respect for the OP and consideration of
possible circumstances that led to his poor spelling stifles
discussion ?

I have seen my friend hounded from more than one group where she might
have expected to get support simply because of her spelling.
Time and again it is assumed that she is in the position to do
something about the problem and hasn't bothered or that she is
attention seeking and can really spell perfectly well.
For the most part other prejudices are now considered the domain of
the ignorant.
John was a first time poster to a group with 'Christian' in the title
he deserved better treatment. I realise that it was out of character
for Alec and believe me I could have written a far nastier post given
my strength of feeling having only a few days earlier seen a sweet
natured girl be told that she was 'lucky to be alive' and knowing that
being teased about her spelling so very nearly led to the death of a
wonderful young woman.
I am not ashamed to proclaim that judging by outward appearances of
any kind is wrong. Do you think that the Assemblies of God Church that
my friend who took her own life a few days ago stood outside asking
for prayer would have turned her away without praying with her if they
had seen her as she was a year earlier as a wealthy business woman
rather than as a homeless person in dirty clothes ? She was the same
person and more in need of prayer than she had ever been in her life
but they saw a bag lady and gave her the name of a rescue mission
rather than the prayer she craved.
This is one argument that I have no intention of backing down on.
