At one of our URC General Assemblies many years back it was
suggested that members should be challenged to give 5% of their
income to their local church and 5% to other causes as they felt
led. It was also said that if every member gave 5%, the problem
would be what to do with all the money! At a rough guess in my
church following this norm would double our weekly offering.
