There's a lot in there I didn't agree with when I read it.
You can't bring the child back though. In the end we must accept these
things even if there is a grieving process. Buddhists claim that accepting
change is actually incredibly empowering. I've seem similar sentiments
but from a different angle in Christian teachings.
I wonder if the miracles grew in the telling.
I wonder if at least with this one we can all see the mustard seed.
There's no danger of "He saved that one, why not me?"
As for the Hindu, he could rescue the scorpion without getting stung if he
picked it up by the tail.
Then both would be happy!
I think most of us would let the scorpion drown.

(Mustard seeds are nice fried in curries. Last night's beef curry was
very non-Hindu ;-)
