A note for all comunity radio stations

In my estimation, if the following is not applied or agreed to, then a
community radio station is very probably breaching community radio rules:

1 No one is obliged to set up a community radio station. Therefore, if
there are rules that are obnoxious, which one feels one cannot comply with
in good faith, then it would be best not to set up as a community radio
service provider.

2 Except in some very few circumstances, everyone that is a member of a
community served should have equal chances for opportunities that arise in
the operation and management of the station. Theoretically, therefore, all
members of a community served ought to have an equal chance of presenting,
in other words, the potential nature of chances for opportunities should be
the same for everyone. Certainly, that no opportunities for presenting were
available to a majority of a community served seems to be a breach of a
principle of community radio.

3 It is important that the individuals, or the groups that a community radio
station is willing to offer chances for opportunities to, matches the
defined community to be served. If this is not the case, then equality for
chances to participate is breached.

The key rule then, when it comes to opportunities in the operation and
management of a community radio station, rests on equality of opportunity.

With my particular community radio service provder, because the community
served is one of place, rather than of interest, then telling me that there
was no way I could ever present a programme was breaching OFCOM rules. IMHO.
