Only a few minutes ago I heard of an answer to prayer that went way
beyond anything expected by me.
A friend had written to me about the best friend of her brother who
was killed in a motorbike accident. A lovely young man, 22 years old
he worked with critically ill babies. His bike went into a car that
pulled out in front of him and he was horrifically injured, ripped
open from head to hip. He was taken to the hospital where he worked
but despite their best efforts they weren't able to save him and he
was pronounced brain dead.
He was kept on a life support machine while his family gathered and
no doubt for organ donation. I asked at St. Pixels for prayers for his
family but had to go straight back again and revise the prayer request
because while we were praying my friend e-mailed to say that while his
friends and family were praying he began to respond to voices !
Prayers are now requested for a full recovery.
Praise the Lord.
Tell us how he gets on with a full recovery, Celia.
For it was quite obviously a wrong diagnosis, which happens on occasions, it
even happens to people without any belief in Almighty God.
But if Christ or any of the Apostles had done it, he would have been healed
immediately without any need of any professional nursing or a period of
convalescing.
Acts 20:7-10 (New Century Version)
"7 On the first day of the week, we all met together to break bread, and
Paul spoke to the group. Because he was planning to leave the next day, he
kept on talking until midnight.
8 We were all together in a room upstairs, and there were many lamps in the
room.
9 A young man named Eutychus was sitting in the window. As Paul continued
talking, Eutychus was falling into a deep sleep. Finally, he went sound
asleep and fell to the ground from the third floor. When they picked him up,
he was dead.
10 Paul went down to Eutychus, knelt down, and put his arms around him. He
said, "Don't worry. He is alive now." Then Paul went upstairs again, broke
bread, and ate."
Amen!
