is Adharma in the world)?
Possibly its not possible ti change history or changing it would change
future events that were necessary or important.
This is actually the recurring theme of Doctor Who in its early days.
Incidentally, one of the reasons put forward to explain why we have never
had a time traveller visit us is that anyone who invented time travel would
be guaranteed to do something that would stop themselves being born so they
would never invent time travel etc etc.
I thought initially that argument didn't work as the condition doesn't
stop time travel being invented. There is the theory somewhere of
multiple parallel universes of which we're the lucky ones to be in one
that supports life. Given that we could say that we're the lucky ones to
be in one where no time traveller does something really nasty.
Weren't some Dr Who plots along the lines of time bifurcating, so the
timeline that the time traveller modifies is not the timeline that he or
she was born on?
"The bifurcating trouser-legs of time" - a quote from somewhere :)
Back on the original point, you'd wonder if an Omni-everything God would
arrange all the pre-conditions for the system as a whole such that
suffering or at least big suffering wouldn't happen. Maybe it's
impossible in which case you could argue that this is actually the set
of conditions in which suffering is minimised.
Of course then we're getting into the question of free will, but the world
appears to act as if we do have free will and we can't tell otherwise
so even if it is an illusion we may as well live as if we do.
