Another point against Christianity.

If you mean that Christianity too often adopts the surrounding cultural values instead of standing for something better, I agree.

If you mean that Christians too easily rationalize just about anything they want to do, ending up no more moral than anyone else, I agree.

These don't make Christianity any worse than non-Christianity, just no different in effect.


(Btw and ot: there are more slaves in the world today than there were at
the height of the slave trade (in the history book sense of the phrase).

I am aware of slavery in parts of Africa. I have trouble enjoying chocolate anymore, after reading that a significant amount of it is picked by children kidnapped and sold as slaves.

Slavery does seem to be one of those things humans do, through centuries and cultures. That's why Paul's instruction to treat the returning runaway slave "like a brother" is so revolutionary.
