Then at least we might know where you would hope that we start from.

But, last time I checked, there was nothing about voluntary euthanasia,
or assisted suicide or, for that matter, abortion, in either the
Apostles' or Nicene Creed, which I would normally think of as a guide
to what is orthodox belief;

Not sure about the Apostles' writings or the Nicene Creed but Jesus says
according to Mattew: "See that you do not despise one of these little ones,
for I say to you, that their angels in heaven continually behold the face of
My Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 18:10). Jesus tells us not to despise
or look down upon the least powerful and significant (by human standards) of
humans. It is ironic that the most helpless humans are those inside the
womb. Of all the risks that we must face in our lives, the most dangerous
place we can be is in the womb, since fully one third of all human babies
are aborted in this nation - over one million every year. Greater than 98%
of all abortions are done for non-medical reasons' [not sure if this is
referring the USA or UK].
