Is for Alec to be right and for the RCC to be the one true church of Jesus
Christ and for it to be the true and current descendant of the church the
apostles founded.
I would REALLY like that to be the case. You have no idea how much easier
I would find that and how much I would like it to be true. I would be the
most fervent RC in history if I were convinced of it.
Sadly when I look at it there are just so many reasons why it cannot be
that, so I can get nowhere near being convinced. Which is a shame.
Is there a pill I can take or a tape I can listen to that removes my
objections? If there is please send it to me.
I can cope with all the Scottish/Irish catholic kitsch and superstition.
The real stumbling block for me is Mary.
It is suggested that we need someone to mediate between us and Christ.
I just can't buy into that idea.
It doesn't seem to have any basis in the bible or even necessarily in early
church tradition.
