I'm sure there are many in hospices who have been misinformed about
what will happen when they die by those who spread their particular
religious nonsense. This is not something to be proud of.

If it helps dying people to face death with some measure of
dignity, it could be. I agree that what matters more is
whether it's right or wrong. But you claimed not only that
it's wrong but that it does no good ("can't imagine how it
would be missed"), and it could do good even without being
right.

Agreed, and I have nothing but admiration for the people who do help
the sick and distressed with no thought of reward; I just wish
religion could be kept out of it.

I probably over-reacted to Ken's comments about politics and religion.
As if they are both as necessary as each other.
