So far as I know, all the research into the subject has shown that the
peppered moth has remained a peppered moth. All that has happened is that
the relative frequency of black and white varieties of the moth has changed
in one direction and then back again.

Curiously, since coming to Rhyl I have noticed a significant change in the
number of black and brown people in the area. For many years there was only
one Asian family in Rhyl (a doctor in the local hospital) but in the last
four or five years the number of Asians has increased and we even have one
or two blacks (the ones I have spoken to are immigrants from various
countries in Africa). No doubt this is a case of modern evolution in action.
