And the survival of the many shows what may I ask?

And the many dead folk who failed to recover when using "alternatives" to
real medicine shows what?

Because they work no more effectively than placebos. Because trials provide
evidence that they work far better than placebos.

Oh yes lets try the cheapest first. Then when they are too sick to be helped
at all lets spend tens of thousands pointlessly. Id rather try what works
best first and then alternatives if it doesnt work.

Oh of course, why would we want those foolish drugs when we can just die
from flu without them (12,000 per annum in the uk already do) and lets not
use drugs to combat malaria (the single largest killer of human beings).

The black death killed around 25-30% of the Euruopean population. I dont
recall any alternative therapies helping then. Nor in China, or India when
they were dropping like flies. The Native Americans were decimated by simple
illnesses and yet they have plenty of alternative cures.

In fact Im struggling to thin of one of these sources of "alternative"
medicines that has ever managed a higher life expectancy than Western man
and his Western medicine. (Unless you count those folk in the bible and
their only alternative medicine was the intervention of God :-) )

Vets have a very high suicide rate. Clearly not everything can be fixed by
diet. Vets put a great many animals down. Clearly dietary changes dont fix
any of them. Much of Western Medicine encourages better diet, regular
exercise, fresh air etc Or had you perhaps failed to notice that part of it?

When the Tigers and Rhinos become extinct what will become of the
alternative therapies that are the cause of their demise? Perhaps the drugs
dont work, but they (foolish hopeless alternatives) just make you worse. To
plagiarise shamefully.
