My immediate response would be that the principles Paul
is expounding are intended to be valid for all Christians
at all times.
However the particular way in which those principles are
applied is sometimes to be understood within the context
of his time.
The question is how far can one express the principles
differently in our time, while still genuinely upholding
the underlying principles ?
