It's nowt but grrime uoop north.

I've just walked down Donkey Lane, reputed to be where the pit ponies
were walked from the mines to graze on the bits of grass between the
railways, flashes and tips behind the road opposite our house. A
little brook runs alongside it - and its bank is festooned with
rubbish (wheelie bins, bits of bikes,, plastic bags, etc) dredged out
by EA recently... but suddenly I disturbed a kingfisher which shot
away down between the banks. Nature is unbowed - why should we be?

Do I  feel a sermon coming on David?

Chatting to a farmer today who has land by the Llangollen. As it's
the quiet time of year he has a Bittern and a Stilt wandering round
his fields and there is also an Otter that seems unbothered by his
presence.
