Some marinas have wi fi at a price. I believe Braunston costs £4 per
day and it can take a day to get connected. Apart from unsecured
private wi fi (illegal to use)
Only illegal if it is inadvertantly insecure. If it is a public access
hotspot (and says as such in its SSID), you are fine.
