Yep, one here. Been reading since my first foray up the llangollen in
1996'sh or there-abouts. Ocassionally get wet here in this ng but mainly
lurk. Left it too late for my Mrs (disabled) to go liveaboard but enjoy
reading the mail.

Hello !
Perhaps we could start a fresh thread specially for lurkers to come in with a brief résumé as above.
They could then return to lurking only, having not invalidated their lurking status.

Good idea. Perhaps we should promise not to look just in case they are shy? ;>)

But seriously, it would actually be useful to know how many of us there are. The Save Our Waterways campaign grew primarily from this ng and, as such, it would be useful to be able to claim some what more than this month's 370+ users. Netscan is useful in this respect because you can set the date to previous years and the period to a year and you'll see that we are about 1,000 posters and that numbers have actually dropped by 14% since 2001.

When talking on behalf of SOW I have always said that we probably had between 1-2000 regulars; I'm encouraged that we might have as many as 5,000 if we include lurkers.

Cheers

Will
