You should be able to get from Marple Aqueduct to Ducie Street Junction
in 7 to 8 hours, depending on how many crew you have for operating the
Ashton Locks (i.e. less time if you have someone ahead setting locks).
The Rochdale Nine could take 2 to 3 hours, depending on how many crew.
With two doing locks (and BW helping down the Nine) we managed
Portland Basin to The Barge at Monton (over the Barton Swing Aqueduct)
in a not-too-rushed day of 14 1/2 miles and 27 locks.
