Thanks, Malcolm. I had noticed that but I think it's still a crap design
because (a) passengers often like to sit on the fore-end of a boat when
travelling along, and (b) it makes the gas locker relatively difficult to
access. And despite the 'don't stand on the roof' signs, I still noticed a
good many Canaltime crew walking across it to get from back to front rather
than using the gunwales. Not having the front door also makes the boats look
pretty naff (IMHO, of course).
