Not sure I fully understand why some people use guides. I met a couple with a guide on the Paps of Jura last week. The guide was leading them up the very obvious 'tourist route' on Beinn an Oir - and not going to even take them up the other two (or three, if you count Corra Bheinn). They looked as if they would be quite capable of following a clear path in the very clear weather we had all the week. And the speed they went on the scree told me that this was not by any means their first outing.
