A friend of mine has the Sigma 10-20 and it's not well corrected. I think
the sharpness is okay but there's a distinct curve to straight lines, and
people bulge and distort on the edges of group photos. It can be corrected
in Photoshop if you're willing to spend the time fiddling about, but you
need to be aware of it. It's very obvious.
Isn't that normal with a wide-angle lens? It is, after all, how we see the world.
Take a photo of long building straight on standing opposite the middle. The floor and roof are parallel in the middle of the picture since you're pointing at it. At the left and right they are of course closer together on the photo. Ergo, the straight lines must curve.
As far as I know this is the normal with any lens, but you notice it more with wide angle.
